MGK said he's going to make a rap album in an episode of the Audacy Check in Podcast that released Tuesday.
I guess rock music didn't roll the way he thought. To be fair, I loved him as Tommy Lee in The Dirt.
He says he's doing it for himself, with no chip on his shoulder and with no points to prove. He definitely had to pop-punk look down, and his last album Mainstreet Sellout topped the Billboard 200.
He's not leaving the rock music scene forever, though. He says he's making a rap album partially to make his fans miss his punk music. To quote one of my favorite movies, Dodgeball, "It's a bold strategy... let's see how it works out for him."
